BLAH has been staying out of the bun fight in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant over building heights at Broadway+Kingsway…
…partly because the BLAH categories seem to have been lost or diminished in the process, one by one…
…live/work? no. art space? gone. architecture? dismissed. height? reduced. housing? reduced+no rental or non-market…
…all they need to do is turn the bike storage into car parking to increase BLAH’s dismay!
So less than enthusiastic, but an endorsement nonetheless…
Vocal tower-phobic critics have limited the supply of transit-oriented development…
…If prices rise, it is limited supply that is to blame, not large scale development.
simple formula: many homes x many storeys = many different people sharing mount pleasant.
there are ONLY 3 sites possible for tall buildings (if 19 storeys even qualifies as tall).
…This does NOT mean “more tall glass towers throughout Mount Pleasant!”
